This workshop is designed for those looking to create acceptance for kids with conditions such as Asperger Syndrome, ADD, and Behavioral Disorders, which can result in isolation, bullying, and acting out. Learn how to create an environment which provides kids continual, daily opportunities to appropriately socialize with peers and adults in the school environment.

Participant Outcomes:

  • Learn a presentation to educate peers on conditions which lead to social challenges.
  • Learn how to implement Circle of Friends for the purpose of providing a small group of peer mentors who provide daily feedback and interaction with the socially challenged child.
  • Learn how to implement effective staff Learning Teams to foster an understanding of kids with social and behavioral challenges, and develop strategies to successfully engage them in the school setting.
