Marylou Schlieder received her bachelor´s degree from Buffalo State College in Elementary and Special Education. She earned her master´s degree in Reading Education from the State University of New York at Oswego. She has been employed as a special educator in a wide range of programs including: preschool special needs, elementary, middle, and high school resource, as well as Adult Basic Education. In addition, she has worked as a teaching houseparent in a residential adolescent treatment program with the Menninger Foundation, and group homes focusing on the treatment of young adults with mental health disorders. Marylou currently teaches in the Norris Public School District, working with kids in grades 6-12 with behavioral and social challenges. She also travels presenting workshops and seminars helping schools learn how to become communities of support for ALL kids. An upstate New York native, Marylou now makes her home in Nebraska where she is adjusting to an empty nest after launching her three amazing boys. When she´s not working like a madwoman, Marylou enjoys spending time reading, working out with friends, cooking, and listening to music.
